LABEL APPLICATOR
FOR 6"- 8" THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTERS
AP 170-4a is an automatic two-sides
applicator of the last printed labels. It can work with most of the wide label desktop
thermal transfer printers.
Its main application is in the automatic pallettisation plants, where there is the need of
the application of two separate large labels on the two sides.
The application tamp is spring loaded and it adapts itself to uneven surfaces, allowing a
secure adhesion of the labels.
The AP 170-4a is controlled by a built-in microprocessor and it can be easily interfaced
to a conveyor through isolated signals for synchronization and alarm, allowing an easy
integration into complex industrial automation systems.
In the typical operating cycle, the applicator waits for a trigger signal (for example the
object breaking the photocell beam, or an external signal) to print the first label.
Once the label has been completely dispensed, it is locked on the plate by vacuum suction
while the piston extends to the first application position (front or side), then it
retracts. A new label is printed, while the pallet is moved to the second position. Then
the new label is picked up and applied on the other side of it.
The length of the stroke is up to 500 mm, (longer strokes available on request) and the
label size can be up to 180 x 280 mm, exceeding the EAN 128 requirements.
It is possible to apply up to 10 labels per minute.
The AP 170-4a can be used for single side application too, by example front only.
A cheaper version, for side only application, named AP 170-2a, is available, as well as a three side version, named AP-170-6a.
